Basketball Recap: Midway Drops Highest Score of Season Against Union

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midway). They strolled past the Union Spartans with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 45-29. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Union lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Centavia Mckoy, who posted 11 points. That was a full 37.9% of Union's points, marking the sixth time in a row Mckoy has had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelin Alvarez, who scored ten points and three steals.

Midway's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Midway and Union will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Raiders will square off against rival Princeton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Union is set to take on their familiar foe West Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
