Upper Perkiomen's rough 47-22 loss to the Bears might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Upper Perkiomen in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost seven in a row.
Upper Perkiomen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Erin States, who scored eight points. That was a full 36.4% of Upper Perkiomen's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Boyertown was led to victory by Tessa Wolfe and Madelyn Weaver. Wolfe scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Weaver scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Heacock, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Upper Perkiomen's defeat was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.2 points per game. As for Boyertown, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.
Upper Perkiomen will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Boyertown, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m.
