The Holy Cross Crusaders entered their tilt with the Torrington Raiders with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Holy Cross walked away with a 70-63 victory over Torrington on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was William Parkhouse, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Parkhouse is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Luca White was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Holy Cross pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Torrington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will face off against Waterbury Career Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Waterbury Career Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Torrington on the road again on Tuesday and play against Naugatuck at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
