Make it seven blowout wins for the St. Mary's Cardinals this season. They blew past Santee 80-33 at home. St. Mary's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
St. Mary's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alissa Brabec, who scored 24 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabelle Barlow, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
The victory (which was St. Mary's third in a row) raised their record to 10-2. As for Santee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
St. Mary's will be playing in front of their home fans against Winside on Thursday. Winside is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Santee, they will head out on the road to take on Marty Indian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Marty Indian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Santee likes a good challenge.
