Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger gave up the first points last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Fort Wayne Wayne by a score of 21-10. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Springer, who threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger also got help from Caleb Lehrman who showed off his sure hands for 84 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, DeKalb beat Angola 28-21 on Friday. The win was just what DeKalb needed coming off of a 43-14 defeat in their prior matchup.
Caiden Hinkle had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 245 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 55 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Hinkle was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Xavier Bell was another key contributor, picking up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Angola to a paltry 110 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to DeKalb's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Bowen Minehart.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for DeKalb, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
