The Westminster Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. The game between Westminster and Segerstrom wasn't particularly close, with Westminster falling 49-30. Westminster has not had much luck with Segerstrom recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Stephanie Valenciano was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten steals for Segerstrom. Valenciano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Faith Ledesma was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with four blocks and three steals.
Westminster bumped their record down to 2-16 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Segerstrom, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westminster will take on Ocean View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Segerstrom, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Katella at 6:30 p.m. Katella will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 549th, while Segerstrom is ranked 262nd).
