The Northeastern Bobcats put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 45-38 win over Eastern York. Given Northeastern's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Eastern York is ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northeastern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nylah Davis, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Davis pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauralye Kennedy, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Northeastern pushed their record up to 15-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Eastern York, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Northeastern will head out on the road to challenge York Suburban at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern York, they will be playing at home against Susquehannock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
