Omaha Westside faced Lincoln East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans, sneaking past  9-7. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
 The team  relied heavily on  Kameryn Lawson, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. That's the most  RBI  she has posted  over her last nine  contests. The team also got some help courtesy of  Baylee Heffernan, who  went 1-for-4 with one  home run.
Omaha Westside's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Lincoln East, their  defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.
 Looking ahead, Omaha Westside will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against Millard West  at 6:30  p.m. As for Lincoln East, they will head out to  challenge Kearney  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bearcats have averaged an impressive 9.9  runs per game this season.
