Jordan has gone a perfect 3-0 against Paetow recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Jordan took a loss when they played away from home back in October, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-6 win over Katy Taylor. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 41 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Paetow strolled past Katy Taylor with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 44-30. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 351st, while the Mustangs are ranked 738th).
Paetow's win came from a few key players Jordan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Derek Stevenson, who picked up 139 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because Paetow is 3-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. The Panthers also got a significant boost from Jovan Rodriguez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 155 yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Paetow proved: they limited Katy Taylor to a paltry 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Jaeden Spelmon for the heroic effort on defense: he. Paetow's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.8.
Paetow didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Player #0 led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself. Spelmon has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last 13 times he's played. Player #0 got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Jordan pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.8 points over those games. As for Paetow, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Everything came up roses for Jordan against Paetow when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 50-19 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Panthers' Curtis Zeno, who rushed for 186 yards and one score on only 12 carries.
