The Arcadia Apaches's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Sierra Vista by a score of 52-49. Arcadia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sierra Vista apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.
Sierra Vista found their leader in underclassman Zaira Eulloque, who scored 24 points. The contest was Eulloque's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cailei Buna, who scored 11 points.
Arcadia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Sierra Vista, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-8.
Arcadia will head out on the road to face off against Hoover at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoover is on a three-game streak of home losses, Arcadia a seven-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Sierra Vista will take on Fullerton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
