Given Encinal's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while St. Joseph Notre Dame is ranked 857th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jazzy Alcantar, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. Lola Whalen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Encinal is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for St. Joseph Notre Dame, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-16.
