The Paradise Valley Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Dobson Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dobson took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Paradise Valley, who comes in off a win.
Paradise Valley took a 28-point loss the last time they faced off against Ironwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans slipped by the Eagles 28-27 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since September 27, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Paradise Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaleb Simmons, who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of scores. Simmons also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Trojans are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.
Another reason for the win was Paradise Valley's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Bowen Meyer was especially locked on to Ironwood's QB and sacked him twice. Meyer has been hot recently, having also posted six or more total tackles the last four times he's played. Another thorn in Ironwood's side was Alek Bringas, who forced one fumble, made 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended two passes.
Meanwhile, Dobson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Sunnyslope and fell 38-7. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Vikings are ranked 40th).
Paradise Valley will have to keep a close watch on Joriyn Winston and Preston Brunsvold, a pair of players who had a big impact on Dobson's prior game. Winston picked up 86 receiving yards and one TD, while Brunsvold threw for 107 yards and one touchdown.
Paradise Valley pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 40.9 points this season. As for Dobson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
