The Dunsmuir Tigers had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Happy Camp by a score of 34-25 on Friday. That looming 34-25 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Dunsmuir yet this season.
Leading Dunsmuir to victory were Abby Powell and Cyla Clemens. Powell scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Clemens scored 16 points along with seven steals. That's the first time this season that Powell grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Grasie Hunt, who scored three points along with five steals.
Dunsmuir's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Happy Camp, they bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Dunsmuir will challenge Tulelake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tulelake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. Happy Camp will be home for the holidays to greet Hayfork at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
