Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Santa Rosa

It was a proper cat-fight when Santa Rosa duked it out with Jesse M. Bethel on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Jaguars 17-1. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Anthonie Navarro was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mateo Fitzgerald, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Micah Stiles, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Santa Rosa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Santa Rosa back to even at 3-3. As for Jesse M. Bethel, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Santa Rosa will take on Tennyson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.25 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jesse M. Bethel, they will square off against Richmond at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup will give the Jaguars their first taste of in-conference action this season.
