The high school volleyball season returned to normal in 2021 with all 50 states and the District of Columbia competing in full seasons and crowning state champions. When it was over,
Marymount (Los Angeles) was the overwhelming choice for MaxPreps National Champion and its senior standout Elia Rubin the pick for MaxPreps National Player of the Year.
With Rubin now at Stanford, it's time for a new group of stars to step onto the game's biggest stage in search of conference and state titles and perhaps a national championship.
The 60 girls on the Preseason MaxPreps All-America Volleyball Team are
athletes who shined during competition in 2021 while adding a few promising up-and-comers.
There are repeat MaxPreps All-Americans, state champions, teammates and even a sister tandem on this year's squad.

5-9 | Senior (2023) | Committed to HawaiiThe top hitter for the Titans on their 40-0 march to a 2021 Class A title and No. 5 finish in the MaxPreps Top 25. Adeyemi, a MaxPreps All-American last year, had 387 kills with 108 digs.
Julia Blyashov, Cathedral Catholic (San Diego)
6-3 | Senior (2023) | StanfordThe future Cardinal helped the U.S. U18 team to a bronze medal last September and the U19 to a gold over the summer. She had 139 kills last season, leading the Dons to a CIF Southern California Open Division finals appearance in November in an ultra-competitive bracket.
Jordyn Byrd, Cardinal Mooney (Sarasota, Fla.)
6-4 | Senior (2023) | TexasThe future Longhorn had 551 kills, 258 digs and 56 blocks as her team went 20-8 and reached the 3A playoffs. She topped the 1,000-kill mark for her career.
Chloe Chicoine, McCutcheon (Lafayette, Ind.)
5-9 | Senior (2023) | PurdueShe had a busy fall helping the U.S. U18 national team to a bronze medal finish in September in Mexico before returning to lead the Mavericks to the Indiana 4A title. For McCutcheon, first-team all-state pick hammered 440 kills with 196 digs, 240 serve receives and 20 aces.
Mele Corral-Blagojevich, Redondo Union (Redondo Beach, Calif.)
6-1 | Senior (2023) | OklahomaMight be the most physical hitter with a high game IQ. Though the Sea Hawks were down a little last season, the future Sooner can carry this squad to great heights in 2022.
Brooklyn DeLeye, Washburn Rural (Topeka, Kan.)
6-2 | Senior (2023) | KentuckyThe state 6A player of the year led the Rural Blues to a 40-2 finish while delivering 586 kills and 133 aces. Washburn Rural entered the 6A final four unbeaten before its only two losses of the year, providing motivation for DeLeye's upcoming senior season.
Babi Gubbins, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.)
6-3 | Junior (2024) | UncommittedThe 6-3 hitter helped fuel the Monarchs in 2021 and is one of three players from the Class of 2024 on the All-America team. She helped Mater Dei to a 36-6 mark and No. 19 ranking with 322 kills, 279 digs and 58 blocks.
Lauren Harden, Hamilton Southeastern (Fishers, Ind.)
6-3 | Junior (2024) | UncommittedMade a splash with 278 kills, 33 aces and 120 digs in 80 sets as a freshman and backed it up with a 264-kill, 170-dig sophomore season as the Royals posted a 26-3 mark.

Claire Little, Vista Murrieta (Murrieta, Calif.)
6-2 | Senior (2023) | BYUHeaded to Provo next year, she pounded 442 kills and 238 digs for the 20-10 Broncos, who played an aggressive national schedule. In two seasons with Vista Murrieta, Little has 903 kills and 485 digs.
Harper Murray, Skyline (Ann Arbor, Mich.)
6-2 | Senior (2023) | NebraskaThe future Cornhusker helped the U18 team to a bronze before returning to the Eagles' run to the Division 1 state title match. The 6-2 Murray notched 652 kills, 312 digs and 82 aces for the 55-4-2 Eagles, who fell to No. 2 Marian in the finals.
Mary Neal, Walton (Marietta, Ga.)
5-10 | Senior (2023) | Mississippi StateShe enters her senior season needing 23 kills to top the 1,000 mark after leading the Raiders to a 27-6 mark and the AAAAAAA title. In 2021, she tallied 415 kills and 279 digs.
Brooke Rockwell, Fayetteville (Ark.)
5-10 | Senior (2023) | Stanford (beach)The Bulldogs hitter finished with 503 kills and 275 digs for 32-4 Fayetteville, pounding 15 kills in the sweep of Har-Ber.
Sara Siefert, Sequoyah (Canton, Ga.)
5-11 | Senior (2023) | UncommittedShe passed the 1,000 kill mark this season for the 50-4 Chiefs, adding 448 kills to her tally with 291 digs. She's off to a hot start with 74 kills (3.7 kills per set) as her squad is 9-0 on the young season.

6-0 | Senior (2023) | PittSecond on the MaxPreps National Champions with 320 kills, the 6-2 transfer added an extra weapon to the Sailors' impressive arsenal. With National Player of the Year Elia Rubin off to Stanford, it's Stafford's time to shine.

6-1 | Senior (2023) | UncommittedThe 6-1 hitter came of age in her first varsity season (Nevada didn't play in 2020), leading the team with 491 kills. She added 192 digs and 71 blocks for the Gaels, who finished No. 12 in the MaxPreps Top 25.

6-0 | Senior (2023) | BaylorThe top-rated player from the Lone Star State by Prep Dig, the Baylor commit dropped 493 kills, 61 blocks and 497 digs in last season's 21-11 campaign as the Wildcats reached the 6A regional semifinals.

6-0 | Senior (2023) | Ohio StateLed the Tigers to a 20-1 season and fifth straight 4A title while being named the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Player of the Year. She posted 356 assists, 223 kills, 217 digs and 54 blocks. She follows in the footsteps of 2020-21 MaxPreps Female Athlete of the Year Paige Morningstar, who was a teammate of Tuman.

In addition to senior leadership, Breazeale, who tallied 489 kills with 268 digs, will be looked to fill the void left by MaxPreps All-American Audrey Rothman. Breazeale is off to a good start after earning MVP honors in the state all-star game over the summer.
Emma Halstead, Brandeis (San Antonio)
6-0 | Senior (2023) | UncommittedThe second-leading hitter for the Broncos on their run to a 6A title last season. She pounded 419 kills with 49 blocks and 50 aces as Brandeis went 47-2. Halstead has started this year on fire with 178 kills in 46 sets and has surpassed the 1,000 career dig milestone.

6-2 | Senior (2023) | StanfordThe 5A player of the year and future Cardinal dropped 375 kills last year for the 27-3 champions. She's topped 1,000 kills in her career.

In her sophomore season, Starck, whose sister Anjelina graduated and is headed to play for the Nittany Lions, dished up 410 assists with 392 kills, 85 aces and 50 blocks.
