The Lincoln High Links will head out on the road to challenge the Gretna East Griffins at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lincoln High will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Gretna East is ranked 40th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 55-20, which was the final score in Lincoln High's tilt against Pius X on Tuesday. Lincoln High was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-9.
Meanwhile, Gretna East was able to grind out a solid victory over Elkhorn South on Thursday, taking the game 49-39.
Lincoln High dropped their record down to 4-15 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Gretna East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
