Basketball Game Preview: New Garden Friends Bears vs. Lee Christian Falcons

New Garden Friends is 4-0 against Lee Christian since December of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The New Garden Friends Bears will challenge the Lee Christian Falcons at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in New Garden Friends' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Last Tuesday, New Garden Friends was fully in charge, breezing past Cresset Christian Academy 60-31. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

New Garden Friends can attribute much of their success to Kingston Clifton, who posted 23 points and four steals, and Curtis Russell, who earned 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Clifton has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Adrian Wilkerson, who had five points and three steals.

Lee Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against Cape Fear Christian Academy on Tuesday, falling 70-48.

New Garden Friends pushed their record up to 10-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Lee Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

New Garden Friends was able to grind out a solid victory over Lee Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 59-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Garden Friends since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
