York has gone a perfect 10-0 against Proviso West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Dukes will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. York will be strutting in after a victory while Proviso West will be coming in after a defeat.
York took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Hinsdale South by a score of 9-4. That looming 9-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Dukes yet this season.
Anthony Massel looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. York is 2-1 when Massel allows three or fewer earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

York's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Proviso West, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Proviso West's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. York has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Proviso West, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will York keep running through batters, or will the Panthers buck the trend?
York got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Proviso West by a conclusive 16-6 score. Will the Dukes repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
