Baseball Recap: Gridley Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Winters, Gridley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Central Valley Falcons by a score of 13-8. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.

Trey Rosser made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Gridley's record now sits at 5-3. As for Central Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gridley will welcome Redding Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Central Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
