The Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks will head out on the road to face off against the B O L D Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dawson-Boyd will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 120th, while B O L D is ranked 35th).
Last Wednesday, Dawson-Boyd was beaten by Minneota 50-6. It was the first time this season that Dawson-Boyd let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, B O L D had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They really took it to Yellow Medicine East for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-14 win at home. The result was nothing new for B O L D, who have now won eight matches by 34 points or more so far this season.
B O L D's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Gross led the charge by throwing for 160 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes. Owen Baumgartner was in the mix as well, providing B O L D with two touchdowns.
Minneota's win bumped their season record to 7-0 while Dawson-Boyd's loss dropped theirs to 4-4.
Dawson-Boyd was taken down by B O L D 50-0 in their previous matchup back in September. Can Dawson-Boyd avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
