Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Liberty Bison walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Dons 38-35.
Liberty got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was AJ Enguillado out in front who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelli Harris-Wellman, who scored ten points.
Cailei Buna and Zaira Eulloque certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Buna scored 12 points along with five steals, while Eulloque scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Buna has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played.
Liberty's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Sierra Vista, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-11.
Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-35 defeat vs. La Mirada on the 10th. Sierra Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
