The Blacklick Valley Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Shade Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Blacklick Valley has ten straight wins, the Panthers have 19 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Blacklick Valley can now show off 16 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Turkeyfoot Valley Area 62-19 on the road. Blacklick Valley pushed the score to 55-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams had no chance of recovering from.
Blacklick Valley can attribute much of their success to Kaydence Killinger, who scored 20 points along with six assists and five steals, and Kristin Szymusiak, who scored 21 points along with six assists and five steals. Szymusiak is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Averi Yewcic, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Shade was beaten by the Rams 55-25 on Monday.
Blacklick Valley's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Shade, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.
Everything came up roses for Blacklick Valley against the Panthers in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 61-25 win. With Blacklick Valley ahead 46-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
