Corning is 2-8 against Gridley since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Corning Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Gridley Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Corning is hoping to put an end to a 15-game streak of away losses.
Corning suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 52-25 loss at the hands of Orland. Corning has not had much luck with Orland recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Gridley posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Las Plumas 37-35.
AnaGloria Luevano and Brook Marr were among the main playmakers for Gridley as the former scored 13 points and the latter dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 blocks. Marr is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 15 games she's played.
Corning's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Gridley, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Corning came up short against Gridley when the teams last played on January 9th, falling 36-24. Can Corning avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
