The San Diego Cavers fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Wilson Wildcats on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Wildcats 48-43. San Diego has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Cavers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mackenzie Nitzel, who scored nine points along with 28 rebounds. Those 28 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Shanti Glenn was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds.
San Diego now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Wilson, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.
