The Baldwin Park Braves will square off against the Montclair Cavaliers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Montclair will be up against a hot Baldwin Park team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Braves came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against Duarte.

Julian Huerta made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Matthew Chavez was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Isaac Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
Baldwin Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Montclair, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let Vista del Lago get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cavaliers have posted since February 27th.
Not much got past Matthew Gaitan, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Vista del Lago off the board. Gaitan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Montclair's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Calderon, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Michael Lara was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Montclair's victory bumped their record up to 9-6-1. As for Baldwin Park, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Baldwin Park has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Montclair struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Baldwin Park skirted past Montclair 5-3 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
