Floodwood had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-36 punch to the gut against Mountain Iron-Buhl on Friday. If Floodwood were hoping to take revenge for the 6-42 loss against Mountain Iron-Buhl the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Floodwood off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Mountain Iron-Buhl a 1-0 record.
Next week, Floodwood take on Hill City/Northland at 7:00 PM. Mountain Iron-Buhl will look to defend their home turf next week against North Woods at 7:00 PM.
