The Strath Haven Panthers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against Chester by a score of 52-41. That's another feather in the cap for Strath Haven, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Chester lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Imani Dorsey, who scored 13 points along with four blocks and three steals. Dorsey scored a full 31.7% of Chester's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Dennis, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Strath Haven's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-0. As for Chester, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Strath Haven will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bayard Rustin at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th.
