Olympian is 0-10 against the Barons since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Olympian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Bonita Vista Barons at 6:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Saturday, Olympian came up short against the Falcons and fell 42-29. While losing is never fun, Olympian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Falcons are ranked 188th).
Asia Darcuiel put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 17 points along with three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Martin, who scored three points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Bonita Vista unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Poway by a score of 71-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Olympian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Bonita Vista, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-12.
Olympian took a serious blow against the Barons in their previous matchup last Friday, falling 67-39. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Olympian was down 43-12.
