Softball Recap: Pawhuska Wins Going Away Against Barnsdall

Pawhuska won the last time they faced Barnsdall and things went their way on Thursday too. The Huskies blew past the Panthers 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Faylee Ferguson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits.

On the hitting side, Emillie Curry and Preslee Long did most of the damage at the plate: Curry went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Long went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Long has posted over her last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Drummond, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Pawhuska and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Barnsdall, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Pawhuska will head out to take on Newkirk at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Barnsdall has already played their next game (against Foyil), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
