After a back-and-forth first quarter saw six lead changes and four ties, the second quarter was the difference as the Huskies outscored Bishop Gorman 16-4 to extend their 16-13 first quarter lead.
Centennial was sparked by an 11-0 run to begin the period. The flurry started with a pair of baskets by McBride and was followed by a pair of
Brandon Dick layups along with free throws from McCain and
Mike Price.

The Gaels were held scoreless for over five minutes to begin the second quarter before
Keenan Bey finally took the lid off the basket with just under three minutes remaining in the half. The Gaels' only two second quarter baskets came from Bey who had a team-high 11 points at the half.
After leading 32-17 at the halftime intermission, it appeared Centennial was going to run away with things early in the third quarter after a layup from Freeny stretched the advantage to 39-22 with 5:22 remaining in the period.
Despite the rally, the Huskies extended their lead to 49-33 heading into the fourth quarter after an 8-2 run to end the period and cruised to the 19-point victory.
Centennial shot 25 of 65 from the field compared to 20 of 61 for Bishop Gorman. The biggest difference in the game was on the boards as the Huskies out-rebounded the Gaels by 27 rebounds (57-30).
Centennial (6-1) travels to the City of Palms Classic next week for an opening-round contest against Winter Haven (Fla.). The Huskies have won 36 of their past 37 games dating back to last season.
Bishop Gorman (3-1) returns to the court to compete in the Tarkanian Classic on Dec. 19, playing Putnam City West (Oklahoma City, Okla.) in their first-round matchup.
