Greensburg Salem has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 43-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Knoch.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ashlan Price, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Bekerleg, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Highlands put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Derry, posting a 64-24 win at home. Given Highlands' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Trojans are ranked 548th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Greensburg Salem has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season. As for Highlands, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.
