They snuck past La Quinta with a 42-36 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Santiago also won the last time the pair played on January 12th.
Despite the loss, La Quinta still got an impressive performance from Katelyn Vo, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and two steals. Vo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Kaitlyn Mai was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Santiago has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-16 record this season. As for La Quinta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santiago will square off against Loara at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loara is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games. As for La Quinta, they will head out on the road to challenge Rancho Alamitos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Alamitos is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
