The Coastal Christian Conquerors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 76-2 win over Maricopa at home. Coastal Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by 22 points or more this season.
Coastal Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carly Starkovich, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. Starkovich is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tania Richards, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
The win (which was Coastal Christian's third in a row) raised their record to 4-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 57 points. As for Maricopa, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Coastal Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Coast Union at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Coast Union comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Maricopa is on the road again on Thursday and play against Highland at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th.
