For the first time this season, Mira Mesa will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to challenge the Christian Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mira Mesa took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Ridgeview. The victory was some much needed relief for the Marauders as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Mira Mesa got a great performance from Dylan Pham as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Pham has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Morton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Widelski, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Christian owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They came out on top against Coronado by a score of 3-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
The result came thanks to Logan Major's shutout, as he gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Christian is 7-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Benji Molina was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Mira Mesa's record now sits at 7-9. As for Christian, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 11-6.
Mira Mesa might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
