The Pioneer Patriots stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They really took it to Mira Loma for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-25 victory on the road. Winning may never get old, but Pioneer sure is getting used to it with their 17th in a row.
Leading Pioneer to victory were Naomi Navarro and Olivia Gill. Navarro scored 20 points, while Gill scored 20 points. Navarro continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Marissa Christian, who scored 11 points.
Olivia Ulep and Desiree Synhorst certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Ulep scored 14 points, while Synhorst scored two points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Synhorst hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Pioneer's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Mira Loma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.
Pioneer will head out on the road to challenge Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dixon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 798th, while Pioneer is ranked 220th). As for Mira Loma, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mesa Verde at 7:00 p.m.
