The Notre Dame de Sion Storm will take on the Bishop LeBlond Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Notre Dame de Sion is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Notre Dame de Sion took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Lincoln College Prep. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Blue Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Scarlett Lind spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits.
At the plate, Notre Dame de Sion let Addisyn Zachary and Lucy Gromowsky run wild. Zachary went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Gromowsky went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Grace Baggott was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Bishop LeBlond hadn't done well against Maryville recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Spoofhounds 9-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Marah Rocha was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. Rocha was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Brynna Miller was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Haven Wright, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Notre Dame de Sion's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Bishop LeBlond, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Everything went Notre Dame de Sion's way against Bishop LeBlond in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Notre Dame de Sion made off with a 19-10 win. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
