The Waynesburg Central Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the California Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Waynesburg Central is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
Last Thursday, Waynesburg Central didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Brownsville, but they still walked away with a 47-43 victory. Given Waynesburg Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Brownsville is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kaley Rohanna continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with two steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that she posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Addison Blair, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, California scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Frazier at home to the tune of 71-41. The win was just what California needed coming off of a 60-36 loss in their prior matchup.
Waynesburg Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. California's record now sits at 10-11.
Waynesburg Central strolled past California in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 64-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waynesburg Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
