The Mt. Eden Monarchs will take on the Vista PEAK Prep Bison in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mt. Eden gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on December 1st. They strolled past El Cerrito with points to spare, taking the game 49-35.
Meanwhile, Vista PEAK Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 53-52 photo finish over Arvada West. The victory was all the more spectacular given Vista PEAK Prep's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Arvada West is ranked 30th).
Mt. Eden's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.
