The Live Oak Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 47-27 defeat at the hands of Willows. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Live Oak has suffered against Willows since February 5, 2019.
Among those leading the charge was Kyleigh Goppert, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Karla Sandoval DiMaggio was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Live Oak bumped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.8 points per game. As for Willows, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Live Oak will take on Pierce at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Willows, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Paradise at 6:00 p.m. Paradise is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
