The Charleroi Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against California by a score of 62-47 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). That result was just more of the same for these two, as Charleroi also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Bella Carroto was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Charleroi's points. Another player making a difference was Ella Sypolt, who scored 13 points.
Charleroi's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for California, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Charleroi will be playing in front of their home fans against McGuffey at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully McGuffey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Thursday. California will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Frazier at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th.
