The Cabrillo Conquistadores can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Santa Maria as Cabrillo made off with a 47-27 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Cabrillo has posted since December 7, 2023.
Cabrillo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie McCune, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Angeliyah Gonzalez, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Cabrillo pushed their record up to 14-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Santa Maria, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cabrillo will face off against San Luis Obispo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Maria, they will head out on the road to square off against Mission College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mission College Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Maria in California (Mission College Prep is ranked 209th, while Santa Maria is ranked 428th).
