Softball Recap: North Bend Central Wins Going Away Against Centennial

North Bend Central lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Centennial, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. The Tigers blew past the Broncos 10-0 on Monday. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 9-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Emma Rangeloff made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rangeloff was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Pyper Daugherty was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hallie Mottl, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

North Bend Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .652. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

North Bend Central's record now sits at 2-3. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

North Bend Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-0 victory against Fairbury on the 25th. As for Centennial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-0 loss against Lakeview on the 28th.
