The Kennedy Cougars can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 61-18 win over Laguna Creek. Given Kennedy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Laguna Creek is ranked 786th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kacie Shinmoto was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Wong, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Kennedy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-9. As for Laguna Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-20.
Kennedy will head out on the road to square off against Franklin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin is coming into the matchup with eight straight victories at home, so Kennedy is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Laguna Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
