The Taft Wildcats and the Chowchilla Tribe squared off in some playoff action  on Friday, but sadly the Taft Wildcats had to settle for second. They fell  42-32 to the Tribe. Taft's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
 Taft's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Shelby Gregory, who  scored 14 points along with seven  rebounds and three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Fynnley Arnold, who  scored eight points.
 Chowchilla's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Nour Escheik led the charge by  dropping  a double-double on 11 points and 16  rebounds. Escheik hasn't dropped below nine  rebounds for 13 straight games. Another player making a difference was  Shalaya Moore, who  scored nine points along with six  rebounds and three  steals.
 Taft's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Chowchilla, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last nine games,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record  this season.
 Taft does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chowchilla, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Bishop Union at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Bishop Union is coming into the  matchup with five straight  wins at home,  so Chowchilla will have to stop a  squad with plenty of momentum.
