Gabrielino's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the El Monte Lions 6-5. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Gabrielino's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 3-4-1. As for El Monte, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gabrielino will challenge Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for El Monte, they will face off against Rosemead at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Lions are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
