The Port Allegany Gators's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Coudersport Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Port Allegany posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They had just enough and edged Otto-Eldred out 42-39.
Kayleigha Dowell and Ella Moses were among the main playmakers for Port Allegany as the former scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals and the latter scored 16 points along with five steals and two blocks. Moses has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton Gordon, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Coudersport had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 55-19 victory over Brockway. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Coudersport has posted yet this season.
Port Allegany's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Coudersport, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Port Allegany didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Coudersport in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 42-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Port Allegany since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
