The Del Campo Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Christian Brothers 81-12. While losing is never fun, Del Campo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1114th, while Christian Brothers is ranked 112th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christian Brothers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aleyah Harmon, who scored 20 points along with six assists and five steals. Harmon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Olivia Novi was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with four steals.
Del Campo has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Christian Brothers, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Del Campo will be playing in front of their home fans against Mesa Verde at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Christian Brothers, they will head out on the road to square off against El Camino at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
