Mountain Empire is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while O'Farrell Charter is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Redhawks will host the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
If The Cambridge School wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mountain Empire, they should've done a better job of containing Rowan Smith. The Redhawks narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Griffins 3-2 thanks in part to Smith, who had 39 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last four games she's played.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-100) Mountain Empire actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-18, 14-25, 25-22, 16-14.
