Loara has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the La Quinta Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Loara focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Monday.
Loara posted their biggest victory yet this season on Monday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 54-17 victory over Bolsa Grande. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Loara has posted against Bolsa Grande since May 14, 2021.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loara to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dulce Espinoza, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals. Espinoza is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Angela Ngo was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five steals and two blocks.
La Quinta proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 34) but on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Los Amigos out 37-34. The victory was familiar territory for La Quinta who now have three in a row.
Loara is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for La Quinta, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Loara strolled past La Quinta in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a score of 43-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Loara since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
