Softball Recap: Raymond Central Has No Trouble Against South Sioux City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Raymond Central). They blew past the South Sioux City Cardinals 16-0 on Saturday. The Mustangs have beaten the Cardinals the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cardinals has come to flipping the script.

Raymond Central let Lacey Down and Tess Roubal run wild. Down got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Roubal went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Down has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rae Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Raymond Central's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for South Sioux City, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Raymond Central has already played their next game, a 12-6 victory against Syracuse on the 25th. As for South Sioux City, they will host Omaha North on Wednesday.
